We are looking for a highly motivated co-op student to join our Capital Markets Finance team in Toronto – part of a world-class, winning culture that prioritizes people development and focuses on long-term growth. Please note this is a 4-month co-op position.

Job responsibilities:

Supporting the Platforms and Data Delivery teams within Capital Markets Finance, the student will:

  • Support process improvement initiatives within Capital Markets Finance Platforms teams, leveraging artificial intelligence tools such as Copilot

  • Gather business requirements, document business procedures and process flows, and execute testing for new solutions as part of the Software Development Life Cycle

  • Monitor processing on mission critical applications and analyze issues ensuring that root causes and resolutions are sufficiently documented

  • Help assess and configure core applications to enable better risk monitoring, alert setup, and user onboarding.

  • Collaborate on ad hoc assignments and projects to deliver value to our stakeholders across OMERS

You should apply if:

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree specializing in Accounting/Finance, Computer Science, or Data Analytics

  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in Capital Markets or FinTech

  • An understanding of investment products including bonds, equities, derivatives, and alternative investments

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Analytical, organized, and great attention to detail

  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint

  • Experience with data engineering tools (e.g., SQL, Python, PowerBI)
