POSITION SUMMARY
The Regulatory Compliance Manager plays a vital role in supporting the execution of HomeEquity Bank’s Compliance Management Program. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Compliance team and assist with the implementation, enhancement, and ongoing maintenance of the Bank’s Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) framework. Key responsibilities include contributing to the development and execution of core compliance processes such as compliance monitoring and testing, regulatory reporting, and continuous improvement of related frameworks. The successful candidate will work closely with business units, front-line risk management (1B), and other risk functions to strengthen the Bank’s overall compliance posture and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
As part of the second line of defense, the Regulatory Compliance Manager will support the independent challenge function by ensuring end-to-end adherence to Bank policies and procedures. The role also provides subject matter expertise in Privacy Risk and actively contributes to the execution of key compliance initiatives.
This position reports directly to the Director of Compliance.
MAJOR ELEMENTS OF THE ROLE
Key accountabilities of this position include:
· Manage the annual RCM Assessment process, including advisory support for risk and control owners.
· Support the on-going development of the Compliance Monitoring and Testing Program and participate in regular testing of Regulatory Compliance Risk themes.
· Support the development of other RCM policies and procedures as the Bank continues to mature its Compliance function.
· Support assessment of and new initiatives.
· Provide advisory support and effective challenge of Compliance issues and corrective action plans.
· Contribute to a culture of compliance and risk awareness across the Bank through effective stakeholder management.
· Support engagement with Regulators and External auditors, as required.
· Support the development of junior Compliance team members and facilitate collaboration across the second line oversight functions.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Qualifications
· Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Legal, or a related field preferred. Post-graduate degree or other related designation, e.g., CPA; CFA; is considered a strong asset.
· 8+ years of professional work experience within a regulated financial institution in Compliance, Legal, or Risk Management
· Experience developing and managing Compliance programs.
· Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated track record of success in stakeholder engagement
· In depth experience with GRC system (e.g. Resolver) functionality
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
· French Language would be an asset.

· Strong subject matter expertise in Canadian banking, AML, and privacy laws and regulations and awareness of pending regulatory changes at both the federal and provincial levels.
· Ability to assess, understand complex regulations and translate technical issues into actionable processes for optimal business impact.
· Strong organizational skills sufficient to manage multiple Compliance and regulatory initiatives across the Bank.
· Strong negotiation and communication skills (written and oral), with flexibility to pivot to accommodate business constraints and work with both junior and senior stakeholders.
· Attention to detail with ability to deliver against multiple conflicting deadlines.
· Broad general knowledge of the Canadian regulatory regime and risk management best practices
· Must be pro-active, self-motivated and a self-starter.
· Proven ability to manage relationships and influence stakeholders.
· A positive attitude, a desire to learn, and a willingness to persevere to get work done, either independently or as part of a team.
· Ability to work independently while supporting both senior leaders and junior team members.
