If you're looking for a position where you'll gain meaningful, hands-on industry experience as an Instrumentation and Controls Technician Student, we’d love to hear from you.

  • Our positions range from 4 to 8 months, starting in winter 2026!
  • You’ll be based out of Saint John, New Brunswick
  • Funding support for housing may be available for eligible candidates 

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM YOUR WORK TERM 

From your first day, you’ll be working on meaningful projects alongside experienced professionals. You’ll also take part in student-focused events, tours, and learning experiences that expand your knowledge and connect you with other students across the company. 

You’ll engage with senior leaders and professionals for coaching, mentorship, and career development. Our division includes major players in the North American construction industry, including Irving Equipment, Gulf Operators, CFM, Irving Wallboard, PumpsPlus, and Kent Homes. 

This is more than just an internship. It is a chance to contribute to real-world projects, build valuable skills, and grow your professional network. 



Responsibilities
  • An optimal work experience in all aspects of the Electrical and Instrumentation trades in a safety-conscientious environment 
  • Assist in the troubleshooting and programming in distributed controls (DCS) and programmable controls (PLC) 
  • Students will assist qualified tradespeople in their day-to-day activities 
  • Maintain and installation of control equipment 
  • Preventative maintenance, continuous improvement and process improvement 


Qualifications
  • Education Required: High School Diploma, enrolled in a 3-year Electrical, Controls and Technology program and in good academic standing 
  • Available for full-time work from January to April 2026 
  • Problem-solving skills 
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Manufacturing experience would be considered an asset
