JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Enterprise Testing Specialist is responsible for independently planning and executing testing and monitoring activities to assess whether business units are effectively operating in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, and control expectations. Operating within the Second Line of Defense, this role provides subject matter expertise in evaluating control environments across multiple risk domains and identifying potential compliance, operational, or process weaknesses.

This position plays a critical role in reinforcing the enterprise risk management framework by leading risk-based reviews of first line activities, validating the design and effectiveness of controls, and delivering actionable insights to strengthen governance and compliance practices. The Senior Specialist also contributes to the enhancement of testing methodologies, supports regulatory readiness, and collaborates with key stakeholders to promote a strong culture of risk awareness and accountability across the organization.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage various phases of compliance testing reviews, including the planning, execution, and reporting, ensuring that all activities align with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

  • Independently analyze and review risk and control documentation to define the scope and objectives of each testing assignment, ensuring alignment with the broader risk management strategy.

  • Drive the development and refinement of test scripts, ensuring comprehensive coverage of regulatory, policy, and operational requirements while collaborating with cross-functional teams for input.

  • Perform advanced testing procedures, document findings in well-structured workpapers, and prepare detailed reports that provide clear, actionable insights to management.

  • Facilitate and lead meetings with business unit leaders and stakeholders during testing kick-offs and close-out sessions, ensuring all risks, issues, and action plans are clearly communicated and documented.

  • Take ownership of drafting formal findings and recommendations for improvements based on test results, ensuring clarity and strategic alignment with enterprise goals.

  • Collaborate with business contacts to validate the accuracy of findings, work with leadership to confirm corrective actions, and ensure timely resolution of identified issues.

  • Oversee the documentation and tracking of issues and corrective actions, ensuring adherence to the organization’s Issue Management process and timely follow-up to close out items.

  • Lead follow-up activities on open issues, coordinating with senior leaders and teams to confirm the successful implementation of corrective actions and track progress toward resolution.

  • Contribute to and lead additional testing and monitoring activities such as key risk indicator (KRI) and key performance indicator (KPI) reporting, as well as ad-hoc compliance reviews.

  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements within the compliance testing framework and contribute recommendations for enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Mentor and guide less experienced team members, providing coaching and support on testing processes, risk analysis, and compliance methodologies.

  • Take a lead role in special projects or cross-departmental initiatives to broaden the scope of compliance testing activities and drive continuous improvement within the organization.

  • Uses independent judgement and discretion to make decisions.

  • Analyzes and resolves problems.


ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.

  • Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Qualifications:

  • Education level required: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum experience required: 4+ Years of Financial Services experience within risk, compliance audit or similar field


Preferred Qualifications:

  • CRCM, ACAMS, or Securities Licenses preferred but not necessary.
