Description

We are looking for a sharp, driven Analyst to join our Resources coverage team within the Corporate Finance & Advisory division of Jarden.

Few sectors are evolving as rapidly as the Resources sector. The energy transition, supply chain realignment, and surging demand for critical minerals are fundamentally redrawing the landscape, creating significant opportunity across the full commodity spectrum.

You will work at the heart of some of the most complex and high-profile transactions in the sector, across mergers & acquisitions, strategic advisory, equity capital markets, and debt capital markets – reporting directly to the Managing Director, Head of Resources and collaborate with colleagues across the organisation, clients, and other stakeholders.

This is a role for someone who thrives under pressure, has strong analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, and sharp commercial instincts.

Key responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain financial models - DCFs, merger models, three-way financials, operational models, and LBOs
  • Prepare pitchbooks, information memoranda, and client presentations that are polished and compelling
  • Conduct sector research and analysis across commodities, company performance, and market trends
  • Execute M&A transactions (public market buyside, takeover defence, private treaty, sale processes) and capital markets transactions (equity raisings, IPOs, debt advisory)
  • Support live transactions end-to-end, coordinating due diligence, data rooms, and process management
  • Develop and maintain client relationships under the guidance of senior bankers

Skills And Experiences

You bring strong technical skills, clear communication, and the ability to manage competing priorities without losing attention to detail. You are comfortable working directly with senior bankers and clients in a fast-moving environment.

You will also have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Commerce, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in investment banking or Big 4 corporate finance (valuation and modelling preferred); applicants from other fields will be considered
  • Strong financial modelling skills and a solid foundation in core corporate finance principles
  • Genuine interest in mergers & acquisitions, capital markets, and the resources / commodities sector
  • Clear, confident communication skills
  • Proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite; familiarity with Bloomberg, FactSet, IRESS, Capital IQ would be additive

In return, we can offer you a great company and team culture within our growing firm, and exciting long-term career prospects.
