Job Description

What is the opportunity? 

A Sr. Product Owner, will manage strategy, vision and execution of the Trading and Market Data capability and initiatives for Wealth Management Canada (WMC).  The role is focused on shaping the best-in-class trading experience and execution leveraging deep market knowledge and defining strategic goals that align with growing market trends and Wealth Management Canada’s business objectives. You will work on a variety of Trading and Market Data related projects; interaction with business leaders, cross platform application stake holders and deep collaborations with Technology, Training, Front Office and Operation teams. 

 

What will you do?  

Product Strategy & Vision 

  • Help develop the strategic vision for Trading and Market Data capabilities that are grounded in a strong understanding of markets and trading behavior 
  • Develop and communicate the forward-looking product roadmap for trading and market data solutions 
  • Align product initiatives with business objectives and market opportunities. Identify opportunities in new market trends, competitive threats, and trading experiences that align with the strategic plan 
  • Establish clear product objectives, key performance indicators and success metrics in partnership with senior leadership. Evaluate third-party data vendors and technology solutions 

Stakeholder Management 

  • Apply knowledge of market analysis, trading workflows and portfolio management to guide product design and application 
  • Ready for market changes, regulatory developments and emerging technologies to partner with branch staff, business stakeholders, technology teams, and operations to ensure requirements satisfy strategic and technical visions  
  • Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and development teams. Present product updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership 
  • Gather and synthesize feedback from internal and external clients 

Product Development & Delivery 

  • Own the product backlog and prioritization 
  • Define acceptance criteria and ensure solutions meet business needs 
  • Work with technology teams using agile methodologies to deliver high quality applications. Deepen understanding of trading workflows, market data requirements, and regulatory compliance 
  • Drive adoption of new capabilities across the organization 

 

What do you need to succeed? 

 

Must Have 

  • 5+ Years experience in Trading and Portfolio Management 
  • Product management experience 
  • Strong understanding of trading operations and market data ecosystems 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills 
  • Experience with agile methodologies 
  • Excellent collaborator and stakeholder management experience. 
  • Strategic mindset who challenges status quo. 

Nice to Have 

  • Front office or capital markets experience 
  • Knowledge of market data standards

Pay Range

The expected pay range for this position is:

$90,000.00 - $140,000.00
