The Senior Manager, Portfolio Oversight Reporting Management works with credit risk departments across international banking to analyze and report on the performance of new and existing portfolios by ensuring that business strategies, plans and initiatives are delivered and executed in accordance with Scotiabank’s Risk Appetite and policies framework, governing regulations, guidelines, procedures and best practices across the industry. Specifically, the individual is responsible for reporting automation, design and maintenance of polished dashboards and decks for executive level consumption, database management and data implementation for all related projects in Originations, Collections and Portfolio. The individual is also responsible for all ETL, job implementations and full end to end automation.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Develop a strong partnership with retail risk teams across all countries, to enable alignment to and GRM Retail strategy, risk appetite and global standards through collections and portfolio monitoring tools, analytics, and reporting.
- Identify, evaluate, review, monitor and oversee key performance indicators in support of credit origination, account management, and, in particular but not limited to, collections initiatives by developing and maintaining strong partnerships with local MIS and retail risk teams across all countries.
- Apply observations and perform trend analysis and assist to Management to identify risks and opportunities to the current business performance indicators as it relates to credit lifecycle oversight.
- Assist data management and reporting initiatives without compromising standards of risk and internal control. The jobholder will liaise with businesses to foster the understanding and spirit of controls and ensure accurate and objective reporting to Senior Management.
- Liaise with the local risk team, local Banking and IB Banking team to determine strategic priorities and assess risks associated with new or enhanced Loss Mitigation Tools.
- Design and develop SQL databases and standardized views to increase operational efficiency, data accuracy, and support the oversight of credit risk lifecycle including originations, portfolio oversight, and collections.
- Optimizing reporting with a focus on automation while ensuring data quality and accuracy across the credit lifecycle and acting as the data administrator for Portfolio Oversight Reporting Management
- Coordinate the development, consolidation, standardization, and validation of new and enhancements to existing datasets to develop and maintain polished PowerBI Dashboards and Decks for Executive level consumption.
- Formalize local originations, accounts management and collections data for governance and compliance and data integrity.
- Provide support and assist with internal Audit and OSFI review topics and requirements.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Ensure all risks and appropriately assessed within all risk decisions processes and assess the customer impact in all risk activities.
- Keep abreast, assess the impact, and, where possible, the implementation of new technology.
- Identifies and executes any opportunities that will result in improvements to operational efficiency or accuracy of data and reporting.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Graduate degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related field
- Exposure to the projection of delinquency rates, loan loss provisions and recoveries
- Knowledge of risk management practices, to effectively challenge current practices and undergoing efforts
- Strong financial analysis and written skills complemented with solid deductive reasoning, sound judgment and creativity
- Strong negotiating and networking skills in conducting day to day activities
- Strong proficiency in programming language, such as SQL, SAS, R, Python, etc and data visualization tools such as PowerBi and Tableau
