Note: At McGovern Hurley, we balance work-life integration with a commitment to excellence. This is a hybrid role that requires a minimum of two-days per week in-person at our North York office, with additional days as required during peak periods. 
About You 

McGovern Hurley’s Sr. Analyst, Quality & Regulatory Compliance thrives at the intersection of regulatory compliance, audit quality, and risk management. Highly organized and meticulously detail-oriented, you will support regulatory compliance, audit quality monitoring, and training initiatives, leveraging strong analytical skills and advanced Excel proficiency to extract, consolidate, and interpret complex data. 

With a background in public accounting, compliance, or audit support, and exposure to AML programs, regulatory reporting, risk management practices, or audit quality processes, you bring a strong understanding of the Canadian regulatory landscape, including CPAB, CPA Ontario, and FINTRAC. You take pride in enhancing the efficiency, accuracy, and consistency of the firm’s quality and compliance framework while playing a central role in fortifying McGovern Hurley’s Professional Standards and Quality Management function. 

Your Key Responsibilities 

(1) Regulatory Reporting & Compliance (50%) 

  • Prepare regulatory submissions, including filings required by the CPAB, CPA Ontario, and Financial Transactions & Reports Analysis Centre (FINTRAC). 
  • Compile, validate, and consolidate data from multiple internal sources to ensure accurate regulatory reporting across McGovern Hurley’s service lines. 
  • Support the firm’s Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance Program, including sanction screenings, client risk assessments, ongoing monitoring, and annual compliance updates. 
  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and organized documentation supporting regulatory reviews, audits, and inspections and periodic reviews of client information. 

(2) Data Base Management & Reporting (20%) 

  • Extract, consolidate, and analyze data from multiple systems (e.g., Excel, internal databases, and audit tools), supporting regulatory reporting, quality, and compliance initiatives. 
  • Design, build, and maintain tracking tools and dashboards to monitor regulatory reporting, quality metrics, and compliance activities. 
  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of data across reporting outputs, identifying and resolving discrepancies where needed. 
 
(3) Quality & Standards Support (10%) 

  • Uphold the Firm’s quality initiatives, promoting compliance with professional and regulatory standards across engagements. 
  • Contribute to firmwide risk identification and mitigation efforts, supporting teams in maintaining high standards of quality and regulatory compliance. 
  • Offer support to Audit Assurance Group (AAG) during peak periods, including data preparation. 

(4) Practice Coordination & Administration (10%) 

  • Coordinate registrations and renewals across relevant provincial jurisdictions and regulatory bodies. 
  • Maintain and organize centralized compliance documentation, including records related to professional standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. 
  • Coordinate internal annual compliance processes, such as independence declarations and firmwide compliance confirmations. 
  • Support the documentation, standardization, and continuous improvement of internal compliance and regulatory processes. 

(5) Training & Development Support (10%) 

  • Aid in the coordination and administration of the firm's Student Tracking Program, ensuring alignment with professional standards and regulatory expectations. 
  • Help coordinate, track, and maintain McGovern Hurley’s training programs, ensuring compliance. 
  • Monitor training completion. 

What You Bring 

  • 2 – 5 years of compliance & regulatory reporting, professional services or auditing support. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with a strong focus on accuracy and quality in all deliverables. 
  • Highly organized, with proven ability to coordinate projects, manage multiple priorities, and meet strict deadlines. 
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., data extraction, pivot tables, analysis) and experience with data aggregation and reporting tools. 
  • Ability to comfortably navigate and integrate information across multiple systems and databases. 
  • Exposure to AML programs, regulatory reporting, or audit quality processes is considered an asset. 
  • Proven background designing and implementing training programs, internal initiatives, or process improvements is a plus.
