Senior Software Developer

What is the opportunity?

We are seeking a Senior Technical Developer to join our Collateral Management IT team as part of our integration engineering group. You will work on a sophisticated integration layer that connects RBC's core trading and market data systems with our vendor collateral management application. This is a hands-on technical role where you will collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, QA Engineers, and project stakeholders to deliver robust, scalable solutions.

What will you do?

• Design and develop RESTful APIs and integration services using Spring Framework technologies including Spring Boot, Spring Batch, and Spring Integration

• Architect solutions that reliably transfer and transform data between RBC internal systems and the Collateral management platform

• Write clean, maintainable Java code adhering to established design patterns and coding standards

• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers

• Troubleshoot production issues, optimize application performance

• Collaborate with QA teams to ensure solution quality

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

• 5+ years of professional experience with Core Java and Java 8/11, including deep knowledge of collection frameworks and object-oriented design principles.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Spring Framework technologies, particularly Spring Boot, Spring Batch, and Spring Integration, including building enterprise-grade applications.

• 5+ years of experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs as web services, including REST best practices and API documentation.

• Proficient with Linux operating systems and shell scripting for development, deployment, and operational tasks.

Nice to have:

• Experience with deployment environment setups using Jenkins pipelines, DevOps practices, and SQL Server 2016 administration would be valuable

• Familiarity with collateral management concepts or financial services integrations..
