Job Description
What is the opportunity?
Are you a strategic leader who thrives on turning data into competitive advantage? RBC Global Functions Technology (GFT) is seeking a Senior Product Manager to define and operationalize an integrated data strategy across HR, marketing, and communications functions.
GFT is part of RBC's Technology and Operations division, collaborating with partners across the enterprise to deliver innovative IT solutions. We work with Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking, and Wealth Management. We believe innovation should drive all that we do—challenging assumptions and being bold with ideas.
In this role, you'll lead cross-functional teams to build data-driven capabilities that unlock insights, drive business value, and embed a data-first culture across three key portfolios. You'll partner with HR leadership, marketing, communications, and analytics functions to translate business needs into scalable data products and solutions. Your impact will be immediate and measurable, shaping how RBC leverages data to make smarter decisions.
What will you do?
Define and Execute Integrated Data Strategy — Develop and maintain a cohesive data strategy roadmap across the three portfolios, prioritizing initiatives that enable HR talent insights, marketing campaign analytics, and communication effectiveness metrics. Ensure alignment with organizational goals and compliance requirements (GDPR, data governance) while allocating resources efficiently across competing priorities.
Lead Cross-Functional Stakeholder Alignment and Advocacy — Serve as the primary liaison between HR leadership, marketing teams, communications teams, and data/analytics functions. Articulate the business value of data investments, manage competing portfolio demands, and ensure stakeholders understand shared priorities—translating business needs into actionable data requirements.
Manage Portfolio Performance and Deliver Data Products — Own the end-to-end delivery of data products and solutions (dashboards, analytics tools, reporting systems) that serve each portfolio. Define and track KPIs for portfolio success, ensure timely delivery of initiatives, and continuously gather feedback from users to refine offerings and demonstrate ROI.
Build and Mentor High-Performing Teams While Fostering Data Culture — Develop skilled teams across data engineering, analytics, and product roles. Mentor team members on best practices, advocate for a data-driven decision-making culture across HR, marketing, and communications functions, and create psychological safety for innovation and experimentation in data-driven solutions.
Lead agile labs and collaborate with business partners to gather and document requirements, prioritize development items, and groom backlog.
Utilize product management frameworks to manage products through their full lifecycle, from concept through production support and BAU.
Exercise thought leadership in emerging technologies (GenAI, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing) to support business partners in implementing these technologies while considering risk management frameworks.
Identify and manage risks through assessment activities, ensuring all products and deliverables adhere to RBC's policies and security directives.
Work with vendors and third parties, facilitating supplier onboarding, maintaining relationships, and supporting partners in vendor selection.
Collaborate with IT Project and Program managers to ensure deliverables stay within budget, communicate status, and escalate issues and risks to leadership.
