What is the Opportunity?
RBC offers an exciting role as a Senior Manager, Risk and Governance. In this position, you will provide support and oversight to the global Pension and Benefits teams in ensuring the effective management of pension and benefits risk and compliance across RBC's global pension and benefit programs.
What will you do?
Supplier Risk Management:
Collaborate with regional teams to conduct thorough Supplier Risk Management Applications (SRMAs) and Processing Activity Risk Assessments (PARAs) for RBC's global pension and benefit programs.
Liaise with Function Supplier Management Office and internal risk assessment teams to perform comprehensive assessments.
Coordinate with external vendors to complete assessments and reassessments, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
Identify and document potential risks, develop risk mitigation strategies with regional teams, and obtain senior management approval.
Develop and gather additional requirements for material vendors, including exit strategies, to ensure business continuity and minimize potential impacts.
Support the global pension and benefits team in ensuring ongoing compliance with RBC’s Enterprise Model Risk Management (EMRM) Guidelines.
Evaluate and ensure supplier adherence to RBC's retention and destruction standards by engaging with suppliers to assess their current practices. Identify and address any non-compliance issues, developing plans to achieve compliance as needed.
Regulatory Compliance Management:
Maintain and update the global pension regulatory compliance database to ensure accuracy and relevance.
Identify key roles and responsibilities across different lines of defense, summarizing actions required to ensure program adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
Facilitate quarterly/annual collection of evidence of control activities in alignment with new additional control testing requirements.
Identity quarterly trigger events and changes with potential impact to the RCM program.
Support and maintain compliance with new and existing CAPSA requirements, including any related assessment activities and evidence requirements.
Operational Risk and Resilience Reporting:
Collaborate with regional teams to generate quarterly reports including operational risk, people risk, Business Continuity management (BCM), Business Environment Impact Evaluation (BEIE).
Provide global updates to the corporate risk team, ensuring timely and effective risk management.
Facilitate documentation of any Operational Risk Events (ORE) as they arise.
Proactively assess future state risks implemented by a change initiative, as well as the adequacy of the risk controls. (Integrated Risk Profile, or IRP)
Vendor/Financial Report Coordination:
Coordinate and consolidate annual financial planning reporting for global pension and benefit programs, including the Macro PAR and global pension plan listing report.
Collaborate with regional teams to complete standalone Project Approval Requests (PARs) for new pension and benefits programs.
Create and maintain summaries for executive sponsors, ensuring timely approval.
