Job Description

What is the opportunity?  

The Senior Manager - Data Analytics and Reporting will work closely with traders, data analysts, and various teams within Corporate Treasury (CT). The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining and developing our data and analytics systems, as well as creating reports to support multiple areas, including:

  • Management of CT's $70+Bn liquid asset portfolio

  • Interest rate risk strategy for RBC's banking books

  • FX, Equity, and Share-based compensation hedging portfolios

The ideal candidate must have strong technical skills, excellent analytical abilities, and effective communication skills to support the development and maintenance of our data and reporting systems. They will need to understand business needs and provide actionable insights to inform decision making, ultimately contributing to the success of Corporate Treasury’s interest rate risk management and portfolio strategies.

What will you do?  

  • Integrate various trading systems, databases and financial information to maintain consistent and timely reporting

  • Enhance processes through automation and use of advance technology for higher efficiencies

  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to build and maintain in-house database

  • Develop Python modules to rank assets and suggest top trades for portfolio managers according to market conditions and internal investment policies

  • Provide on demand analytics by leveraging big data to enhance our current trading practices

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Math/Computer Science/Engineering/Finance

  • Proficient with Python/VBA/SQL/Tableau; Data cleaning/Data visualization

  • 2-5 years of experience in data/finance related fields

  • Strong attention to detail  

  • Strong team player and interpersonal skills

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with HIVE/PySpark/PowerBI/Qlik

  • Knowledge of derivatives, portfolio reporting, P&L reporting

  • Experience in Treasury/Finance/Product Control department of the bank
