The Pension and Benefit Centre of Excellence (COE) is located within the CFO group. This position focuses on stock-based compensation, pension and benefit accounting and controls. Key business partners include RBC Human Resources , Payrolls, actuaries, custodians, internal and external auditors, Corporate Treasury, regional financial controls, business platform performance management, and the Tax group.
As a Senior Financial Analyst within Financial Regulatory Reporting P&B COE, you will provide governance over Pension & Benefits and Share-Based Compensation accounting and reporting, ensuring appropriate controls and processes are in place.Β
This role also ensures compliance with various regulatory reporting requirements related to RBC Quarterly, Annual Reports and Note disclosures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare and post the Journal entries related to stock-based compensation and Pension and benefit.
- Reconcile stock-based compensation and variable compensation accruals, expenses, and payments
- Perform annual bonus payout reconciliation and prepare over/under accrual analysis.
- Analyze pension and benefit expenses (month-over-month, quarter-over-quarter, year-over-year) and communicate insights to business partners
- Establish reconciliation templates to monitor financials through closing cycles
- Prepare pension and benefit financial reporting
- Document work process steps, data calculations, and financial controls for pension, benefit, and stock-based compensation work files
- Lead special projects and assignments requiring analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills, including process redesign and automation
