What you’ll be doing

The Operations Transformation & Automation team is focused on building and supporting capabilities in instrumentation, analytics, automation, reporting, and capacity management. We are committed to simplifying and automating processes to enhance our operations and better serve our partners and clients. As a Senior Consultant, Strategic Initiatives, you will lead complex automation and analytics initiatives from discovery through delivery and adoption. You will translate business challenges into scalable digital solutions using low-code automation, optimization models, and self-serve analytics. You will serve as a subject matter expert across both business & technology domains, shaping solution design, influencing roadmaps, and coaching analysts and consultants on modern automation practices.

You will collaborate with a diverse team to develop innovative solutions that deliver a best-in-class stakeholder experience, connecting multiple data sources and consulting with senior management on the application of both existing and emerging infrastructure technologies. This includes translating user requirements into process and data requirements, developing impactful business solutions, and making technology selection decisions in evolving business environments. Success in this role requires an automation mindset, strong business analytics skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. Flexibility, adaptability, and creative problem-solving are essential. You will provide post-implementation support, follow best practices for change management, and assist in resolving both routine and non-routine operational challenges by investigating, analyzing, and offering informed recommendations on compliance and operational control activities.

At CIBC, we support a work environment that enables you to thrive in your role. You can perform all work activities remotely, with occasional on-site presence (1-2 days per month). Additional on-site days may be required subject to business needs.

Translate operational data into insights that guide prioritization, process changes, capacity planning, and performance improvement. Support benefit tracking and value realization for transformation initiatives.

Present recommendations, risks, and trade-offs to senior stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making. Mentor junior Consultants and Analysts on technical development, structured problem solving, and delivery practices.
