What You'll Be Doing

You'll join CIBC's Wealth Management – Azure Hub team as an L8 Sr Consultant/ QA ETL Tester. In this role, you'll lead quality assurance efforts for Databricks-based data pipelines, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), and other Azure cloud data solutions. You'll create comprehensive test cases and test plans for the ETL stream, coordinate a team of QA testers, and ensure overall data quality with each release. Your strong SQL expertise will enable you to validate complex data transformations and business logic throughout the data warehousing lifecycle, including ETL type-1 and type-2 scenarios. You'll report directly to the Director and collaborate closely with experienced developers, system analysts, QA testers, and business partners to clarify requirements and track project milestones. Your leadership and technical skills will ensure our data assets are robust, accurate, and compliant with business needs.

How You'll Succeed

• Test Planning and Execution – Develop and maintain detailed test cases and test plans for ETL processes and data pipelines. Oversee the execution of manual and automated tests, ensuring coverage of all business and technical requirements.
• Team Coordination and Leadership – Coordinate the activities of QA testers, providing guidance and support to ensure quality standards are met for each release. Act as the main point of contact for QA within the project, reporting status and risks to the Director.
• Technical Expertise – Apply hands-on experience with Azure cloud environments, Databricks-based data pipelines, and Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS). Write complex SQL queries to validate data transformations, reconciliations, and business logic. Ensure thorough end-to-end data warehousing testing, including ETL type-1 and type-2 scenarios.
• Stakeholder Engagement – Work with developers, system analysts, and business partners to clarify requirements and manage project milestones. Communicate test results, quality metrics, and risk assessments effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Who You Are

• You're an experienced QA and data professional. You bring 8+ years of hands-on experience in QA roles, specializing in ETL/data testing, data warehousing, and automation.
• You're an Azure and Databricks expert. You have proven expertise in Azure cloud environments, Databricks-based data pipelines, and Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS).
• You're a SQL power user. Your strong SQL skills enable you to write complex queries for data validation and business logic testing.
• You're a data warehousing specialist. You have a deep understanding of end-to-end data warehousing testing and ETL type-1 and type-2 scenarios.
• You're a leader and collaborator. You excel at coordinating QA testers and working with cross-functional teams, including developers, system analysts, and business partners.
• You're a strong communicator. You clearly document and communicate test plans, results, and project status to stakeholders.
