Senior Analyst, Operational Risk Management

We are hiring for this position out of our Vancouver office. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance. 

Role Overview:

This is a unique opportunity within the Enterprise Risk Management team for a strategic, innovative, and solution-oriented professional. The role is designed for someone who is passionate about advancing risk management practices to drive meaningful business results. It requires a dynamic collaborator who brings strong business acumen and excels at partnering with stakeholders to support organizational objectives.

About the day-to-day:

  • Support the delivery and continuous improvement of Operational Risk Management (ORM) programs, ensuring alignment with the organization’s risk framework and strategic objectives.
  • Facilitate and support the Risk and Controls Self-Assessment (RCSA) process, partnering with Business Units to identify, assess, and document key risks and controls.
  • Support the running of the Operational Risk Management Committee (ORMC). This includes preparing the agenda, taking minutes, ensuring Action Items are addressed, and tracking Self-Identified Issues (SIIs).
  • Support the New Initiative Risk Assessment (NIRA) process, helping evaluate and mitigate risks associated with new projects, products, and business changes.
  • Collaborate with the broader Enterprise Risk Management team to deliver key initiatives, reporting, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support the overall Enterprise Risk Management team on an ongoing basis.

About the qualifications:

  • At least 3 - 4+ years of Operational or Enterprise Risk Management (ORM/ERM) experience with federally regulated financial institutions or equivalents, or with public practice Accounting or Consulting firms.
  • Strong communicator, comfortable engaging with stakeholders across the business to facilitate risk assessment and discussions.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office, data analysis, visualization, and presentation tools (ex. Excel, Power BI).
  • Effective communicator and adept at building professional relationships.
  • Organized and proactive, capable of managing multiple priorities and ensuring key Risk Management activities are delivered on time.
  • New or part-qualified CPA or equivalent (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) would be beneficial.
  • Strong organization, planning and project management skills and ability to execute effectively in dynamic environments, and under tight timelines.

About the work environment

Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start/end times.

Peoples Group is pleased to offer employees a competitive annual salary plus a discretionary profit share opportunity. Salary for this position will vary between $80,000 and $90,000 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities and experience that the chosen candidate possesses.
