Job Summary:

As an Analyst in our Natural Resources group in Calgary, you will be a key player in our business strategy and execution, particularly within the energy and mining industry. You will participate in the "full cycle" of transactional execution including preparing marketing pitches, reviewing and formulating financial analysis, preparing and presenting internal committee memoranda and client presentations. In this role, you will develop strong functional skills in the major areas of investment banking and develop expertise in the Natural Resources industry as part of your coverage responsibilities. Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare pitch books, presentations, and marketing materials for client meetings and business development.
  • Perform company and industry research to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
  • Performing valuation analyses, building detailed financial models and executing transactions from pitch to close.
  • Support senior bankers in client relationship management and deal origination.
  • Assist in the execution of transactions, including due diligence, documentation, and closing processes.
  • Build your professional network with mentors, senior executives and others.

 

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:

  • A well-rounded academic background from a top tier educational institution.
  • Strong analytical skills and financial modelling skills.
  • Impeccable communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with senior professionals, clients and key stakeholders.
  • Self-directed, highly motivated, and able to work independently.
  • 1 to 2 years of prior work experience in an investment banking front office role with demonstrated interest in the energy and/or mining sectors is highly preferred.
