As a Medical Sales Representative, you'll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients' lives. The Representative has a responsibility to meet and exceed sales objectives in their assigned geography while in accordance with all applicable company and regulatory standards. The territory sales representative will work to understand and identify customer needs, aligning appropriate resources and all pull-through activities. You will acquire advanced product and disease state knowledge that allows for in-depth engagement with all health care professionals.

What You’ll Do:

  • Reporting to the BC Area Business Manager, you will collaborate with your territory business partner to create and implement a sales management plan aimed at meeting or surpassing sales goals for your region.
  • You'll promote our range of respiratory products and provide education to our valued customers, thereby contributing to positive outcomes for patients.
  • With your effective communication style, you'll convey product information to Primary Care Physicians, Specialists, Pharmacists, Hospital Influencers, and Allied Healthcare Professionals by identifying unmet needs and developing solutions to address them.
  • You'll work closely with the sales team, medical team, colleagues based at the head office, and key influencers within your District and Regional Business Unit.
  • You'll share insights from the field with your team and head office colleagues to enhance our operations and strengthen our market position.
  • You’ll analyze, plan, and implement activities to drive business success in your area, such as organizing sales events, managing expenses, and investing in ongoing education initiatives.
  • Your natural affinity for people will help you build strong team alliances and customer relationships, fostering collaborative working environments.
  • You'll be responsible for collecting and reporting Adverse Events in line with AstraZeneca's policies and procedures.
  • Depending on the candidate's level and previous experience, there may be an opportunity to include specialist coverage in the role.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A degree in Science, Business, or a related field.
  • Ideally, you currently reside in the Kamloops/Kelowna areas.
  • Minimum 2+ years of successful sales experience required.
  • A proven track record in sales, ideally within the pharmaceutical sector, and Respiratory experience is preferred.
  • Experience in building strong relationships within the primary care community. Familiarity with respiratory diseases is a plus, or the ability to quickly learn and understand this therapeutic area.
  • The ability to positively influence and impact others, quickly establish credibility, and cultivate robust business relationships.
  • Exceptional organizational skills paired with strong communication and business acumen.
  • A commitment to fostering a cohesive and collaborative team environment.
  • A willingness and ability to travel as needed.
  • A valid driver's license, with a driving abstract required at the time of acceptance.

The Senior Manager, Market Access Strategy is accountable for developing and driving Market Access Strategies to optimize reimbursement (public and private) of AstraZeneca’s business unit portfolios. On a brand-specific basis, the Senior Manager is the primary internal point of contact for the MAP function and is responsible for end-to-end access strategy leadership from early stage through to launch, reimbursement and life cycle management. 

Accountabilities: 

  • Lead the development and delivery of market access strategy, including pre-launch planning, portfolio assessment and CDA, INESSS, Provincial and Private Payer submissions, through to formulary listing. 

  • Lead all aspects of cross-functional development and execution of key strategic imperatives to support reimbursement objectives. 

  • Leverage brand-specific expertise to advise pCPA and private payer negotiation strategies,  

  • Represent MAP as member of the Brand Team by acting as a role model for cross-functional working to ensure TA area objectives are met; and be an enterprise problem solver who can articulate the Payer/ Market Access perspective and understand the brand objectives so that effective solutions are built. 

  • Communicate regularly and effectively with Access Brand Value team (Payer evidence, pricing, negotiations, payer engagement) to share brand insights and ensure overall access strategy coordination. 

  • Seeks new insights as well as environmental trends to develop foresight to build strategies and plans.  

  • Provide access assessment, critical appraisal, evidence gap identification, and external engagement to build reimbursement strategies throughout the product lifecycle. 

  • Lead and/or participate in local, national, and global-cross functional teams to address and support market access needs within the business.  

  • Responsible for leading brand-specific access budget. 

  • Collaborate with external partners & reimbursement experts to ensure that AstraZeneca Canada market access initiatives are relevant and support the needs of patients, health care providers and payers. 

  • Work with Market Access Strategists, and Payer evidence manager, providing mentorship on critical deliverables for access strategy optimization. 

  • Responsible for collecting and reporting Adverse Events in accordance with AstraZeneca policies and procedures 

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • Advanced degree in science, business (e.g., MSc, MBA) or equivalent 

  • 7+ years of Pharmaceutical experience and/or 5+ years Market Access experience with exposure to ONC preferred.

  • Experience in market access, regulatory, new product planning, pricing, evidence generation, or commercial with in-depth knowledge of the Canadian drug reimbursement landscape (HTA and pCPA processes, public/private payers, health policies). 

  • Experience constructing payer value stories and incorporating these into strategies and submissions. 

  • Track record of success delivering optimized market access across multiple brands. 

  • Experience working with external partners (e.g., clinicians, patient groups) to define and deliver optimized access results . 

  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and proven multi-stakeholder project delivery in a sophisticated environment. 

  • In-depth knowledge of CDA, INESSS and pCPA processes. 

  • Strategically agile with strong business insights and can synthesize information from diverse sources to formulate strategies and actions. 

  • Motivated by working with ambiguity and complexity. 

  • Ability to think creatively in developing and implementing business solutions. 

  • Strong communication skills: interpersonal, writing and presentation. 

  • Adaptive style with ability to influence and establish relationships with a range of internal and external partners. 

  • High degree of initiative and sense of urgency with an ability to lead multiple priorities of significant scope in a fast-paced environment

Annual base salary for this position ranges from 101,635.20 to 133,396.20.

AstraZeneca is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation opportunities to all colleagues. Our compensation policies and practices have been designed to allow colleagues to progress through the salary range over time as they progress in their role. The range provided in this posting represents an offer pay range used in a majority of situations. The base pay offered will vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, and other specific business and organizational needs.  In some cases, offers outside the range may also be considered to address unique circumstances.
