Job Description

What's the opportunity?

You will act as the first line of defense for operational risk, responsible for assisting PB &CB business and functions in identifying and mitigating operational risk. You will monitor adherence of  PB &CB’s ORM practices with enterprise ORM program requirements. You will provide PB & CB leaders with advice and subject matter expertise regarding operational risk management in support of effective operational risks management and mitigation. You will support ORM Governance team and work as a back-up for other team members when needed.

What will you do?

  • Support the development of  PB &CB’s Operational Risk Management methodology documents and maintain the methodology documents on PPL, ensuring they are up to date
  • Produce quality assurance reports to monitor adherence of  PB&CB’s ORM practices with enterprise program requirements leveraging RBC AI tools
  • Support the review with Operational Risk directors for PB &CB business units to ensure OR programs are executed in compliance with requirements
  • Coordinate the collection of required ORM materials during internal audit and regulatory exams
  • Facilitate the preparation of external event reports with Operational Risk directors as meeting materials for the monthly Group Risk Management (GRM) and Operational Risk meeting
  • Organize governance meetings and coordinate with meeting presenters to collect pre-mail materials
  • Collaborate with IT team and perform UATs for various change initiatives to risk triage tools in line with updates to enterprise standards, operational risk policies and procedures
  • Back up Manager Operational Risk Reporting in the team to support risk reporting deliverables 

What you need to succeed

Must have:

  • 5+ years in the financial services industry experience
  • Knowledge of Canadian Banking products, processes, and organization
  • Professional oral, written and presentation skills
  • Good impact and influence skills, ability to work with a risk and control mindset and apply a risk-based approach
  • Passion for problem-solving, strong analytical and research skills, a proactive and inquisitive nature, and ability to challenge current practices while leveraging AI to drive innovation and efficiency
  • Proficiency in MS Office Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint, and Access
  • University degree
