What is the opportunity?
We are looking for a talented Lead Researcher to join our research team and play a central role scoping and leading research engagements, managing strategic and stakeholder relationships, and creating exceptional user experiences. You will design research approaches, guide teams through ambiguous problem spaces, and influence strategic decisions across RBCx. Our ideal candidate mixes research, strategy and storytelling to bridge business opportunities with compelling solutions.
This critical role will split their time between: Primary and secondary research (~60%), Workshops and innovative ideation (~20%), Client advisory and consulting (~10%), and; Managing resources, logistics and other admin tasks related to research practices (~10%).
What will you do?
Mixed Methods Research: You will work closely across RBCx teams as an expert on human-centered design and research. You will leverage mixed methods insights to deliver business impact across quantitative and qualitative studies, such as ethnographic research, concept testing, usability testing, surveys, and secondary research. This role will lead exploration of new methods, build our research programs and influence strategic decisions across RBCx.
Strategic Ideation & Opportunity Discovery: You will carve our future opportunities by leading collaboration with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders to develop innovative ideas by leading research and strategy sprints. Uncovering strategic and human-centred opportunity areas to expand our businesses.
Facilitation: Lead the creation and facilitation of workshops designed to support product visioning, ideation, and other co-creative activities that bring cross-functional teams together towards a clear product direction. This may include half-day to multi-day design sprints to discover strategic solutions at the thematic, epic, or user story levels.
Research Operations Oversight: Manage logistics and other administrative activities as it relates to design workshops, research and similar events. Provide oversight and support for efficient and timely research operations, ensuring quality, clarity, and alignment with partners and stakeholders.
What Do You Need to Succeed?
Must Haves
6-8 years research experience
Deep expertise and experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research to uncover human insights with a focus on solving business challenges
Experience synthesizing research results into strategies and tactics
Ability to work with cross functional teams to align on solutions
Extensive experience with stakeholder management, leading presentations, and direct client interaction
Nice-to-Haves
Data analysis experience and extensive quantitative research background
Experience managing team members both formally and informally through mentorship
