Head of Sustainability, Personal Banking and Commercial Banking

What is the opportunity?

We are seeking an experienced and passionate leader to join the Personal Banking and Commercial Banking (PB & CB) Sustainability team. The Head of Sustainability, Personal Banking and Commercial Banking will lead and inspire the Sustainability segment strategy across PB & CB, and will be the face of the sustainability proposition by actively prioritizing and shaping this topic across the platforms. In this role, alongside your team, you will partner with PB & CB and Enterprise teams to design, develop and execute PB & CB initiatives that contribute to the success of Empower 2030 and Ambition 2030 while operationalizing the RBC Purpose Framework within the business.

What will you do?

• Serve as the PB & CB sustainability lead and subject matter expert; working with line of business partners across Commercial Banking and Personal Banking

• Deliver the Sustainability strategy for the business executing against roadmaps developed for climate, financial wellbeing and housing affordability while iterating the strategy in response to client and market insights

• Lead the deployment of a suite of sustainability solutions as we support our clients’ journey from awareness to engagement to action

• Embed sustainability priorities across lines of business identifying opportunities to develop solutions, evolve product offerings and upskill colleagues on key topics

• Act as the conduit with the Enterprise climate strategy and sustainability and impact teams leading engagements regarding topics impacting RBC such as public disclosure of sustainable finance and affordable and sustainable housing commitments and development of metrics for senior leadership reporting.

• Coordinate and manage a cohesive strategic and multi-faceted action plan across PB & CB, including funding and resourcing

• Stay connected to the market and industry through community of practice and other external experts – establishing leadership voice internally and where relevant externally (in partnership with enterprise)

• Analytical mindset with ability to seek out insights, design value propositions, and work across the matrix to steward the development of content, product, experiences, and outcomes

• 5+ years of strategic leadership and people management experience
