About the Role

Kitsap Credit Union is in search of a Financial Crimes Investigator. This position is responsible for the detection, investigation, prevention/mitigation, and resolution of financial crimes.

Employment Type: Non-Exempt, hourly, Full-time, Hybrid

Salary Range:  $25.35 - $30.54 depending on experience

Bonus Target: 5% potential incentive of base pay

Working hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

Grade: 6BC

Principal Accountabilities

  • Manage, track, investigate, and respond to member claims of fraud, ID Theft, Elder Abuse, and other financial crimes.
  • Detect and investigate new account, loan, and deposit fraud committed against the credit union.
  • Detect fraud trends and take action regarding appropriate prevention/mitigation efforts to protect credit union and member assets.
  • Process debit and credit card disputes in accordance with Regulation E and Regulation Z, ensuring timely resolution and accurate documentation.
  • Prepare Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) for review in compliance with BSA/AML regulations and organizational standards.
  • Provide support regarding financial crimes to credit union members, staff, and management.
  • Act as the credit union liaison to local/federal law enforcement in the prevention/prosecution of financial crimes.
  • Assist with the development and presentation of fraud/loss prevention training to employees.

     

    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • 3 years of Financial Institution experience in lending and/or operations.

     

    Supervisory Status

    This position does not supervise others.

     

    Working Conditions

    This position will be required to work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, and, with or without reasonable accommodation is required:

    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for a minimum of 75% of the time
    • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machines
    • Occasionally ascends/descends stairs
    • Constantly positions self in work environment
    • The person in this position frequently communicates with peers, supervisors, vendors and employees to exchange accurate information and answer questions
    • Must be able to detect objects at a distance
    • On occasion will move up to 20 pounds of office objects
    • Works in an indoor office environment but expected to attend meetings in buildings that require travel in outdoor weather conditions
