What you’ll be doing 

As Director, Talent Acquisition Operations at CIBC, you will champion simplification and operational excellence across our enterprise-wide hiring practice. Reporting to the Senior Director, Talent Acquisition, you will be responsible for driving governance, process improvement, change leadership and contract oversight to support our strategic hiring objectives. 

You will lead a team of specialists who enable the global Talent Acquisition function to deliver exceptional results. Your leadership will ensure that every process and initiative is designed to provide an outstanding experience for candidates and business partners, while maintaining rigorous oversight and managing risk. 

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.  

How you’ll succeed 

  • Change Leadership and Enablement: Design and implement strategies that engage and support team members and leaders through workplace transformation. Champion the adoption of new tools, processes, and capabilities that enhance operational efficiency and candidate experience, ensuring all stakeholders are equipped for success. 
  • Project Management and Operational Oversight: This position oversees key strategic initiatives and projects with broad impact on hiring practices and Talent Acquisition (TA) strategy. Responsibilities include managing vendor relationships and contracts, ensuring effective selection, negotiation, compliance, and renewal processes. Rigorous process oversight is maintained to ensure compliance and mitigate risk across all activities. Accountability extends to the management and monitoring of contracts, including vendor selection, contract completion, spend tracking, and renewals, while supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual planning cycles. Vendor engagements are actively monitored through performance dashboards to evaluate overall value and success, driving continuous improvement in TA operations.  
  • Consulting: Act as a collaborative leader, building strong relationships across the organization. Serve as an ambassador for talent acquisition, partnering with business leaders and cross-functional teams to deliver critical programs and initiatives. Offer strategic guidance to executives and stakeholders, enabling the achievement of annual goals and proactively addressing challenges. 
  • Leadership: Inspire and manage a team to achieve business objectives in alignment with CIBC’s values and strategic priorities. Foster a positive and high-performing work environment by setting clear expectations, coaching for success, supporting professional growth, and regularly reviewing performance. Provide direction, establish priorities, and ensure accountability for results.
