Your Role in Supporting Our Members:

As the Director, Regulatory Compliance, you will provide enterprise‑wide leadership for Vancity’s Regulatory Compliance Management framework, ensuring the organization meets its regulatory obligations while enabling sustainable growth and exceptional member experiences. Acting as Vancity Group’s Chief Privacy Officer, you will partner with senior leaders to proactively identify, assess, and manage compliance and regulatory risks, providing independent challenge, expert guidance, and strategic insight. This role is ideal for an experienced compliance leader with deep financial services knowledge, strong people leadership capabilities, and the ability to influence at the executive level.

This is a Full‑time, Permanent role based at our Vancity head office and will report directly to the Vice President, Enterprise Regulatory Compliance. While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be on‑site for events and business demands, and to connect with your team. 

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Leading and evolving the Regulatory Compliance Management program across the organization
  • Developing and promoting the management of regulatory compliance risk management across the organization
  • Providing enterprise
  • Overseeing enterprise assessments related to regulatory compliance and privacy
  • Providing independent review and challenge of compliance risk and control assessments
  • Monitoring regulatory changes and ensuring timely communication and integration into policies, programs, and processes
  • Partnering with senior leaders to strengthen compliance capabilities while enhancing member experience
  • Escalating material compliance issues and deficiencies to senior leadership as required
  • Supporting the ongoing development of Vancity’s enterprise compliance strategy and framework

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, law, finance, or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in regulatory compliance, risk management, or a related financial services discipline
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise‑wide compliance or regulatory risk programs
  • Strong people leadership experience, including developing and leading senior leaders and diverse teams
  • Advanced knowledge of financial services regulations, compliance frameworks, and risk management practices
  • Proven ability to advise, influence, and challenge senior leaders and executives effectively

Extra Skills That Set You Apart:

  • Experience acting as, or supporting the function of, a Chief Privacy Officer
  • Exposure to AML, financial crime, or sanctions compliance programs
  • Experience working within a values‑based or cooperative financial institution

What You’ll Earn:

This role offers a salary range of $141,900 to $166,900 per annum. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
