Job Description Summary

You will be responsible for leading the PB & CB Operational Risk Governance team by establishing robust procedures and reporting against all aspects of the Operational Management program. In this role you will lead a team who develops dashboards and capabilities to provide deeper insights into operational risk for all lines of business within Personal and Commercial Banking. You will work closely with the Personal & Commercial Operations data teams, finance and our GRM Operational Risk Shared Services team to maintain Archer hierarchies, ensure quality data is available and compliance with the Enterprise Operational Risk policies and standards.

  • Partner with second line of defense and business risk teams to develop procedures and implement any new or changed operational risk initiatives and policies.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for the operational risk directors and team
  • Design reporting to provide deep operational risk insights and overall views of the operational risk exposures at the personal banking and commercial banking segment level.
  • Lead the refresh and design of the key risk indicators for all lines of business
  • Ensures a robust operational risk event program is in place, including data insights of root causes and trending to identify systemic control gaps.
  • Lead a team of operational risk reporting professionals
  • Ensure governance processes are in place to demonstrate compliance to the  ORM Enterprise policies and standards
  • Please note that this role manages a team located at our Meadowvale office .Periodic travel to this location will be required.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 10+ years’ experience in financial services sector
  • 7+ years’ experience in operational risk management,
  • Proven leadership within the business or function
  • Strategic mindset, with excellent knowledge and understanding of RBC businesses and organization
  • Data and reporting visualization capabilities.
  • Highly developed ability for conceptual thinking
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proven track record of building strong relationships across business functions

Nice to have

  • Graduate degree in business or related discipline, MBA, CA, or other professional designation
