Job Description

What is the Opportunity?

We are seeking a dynamic Director, Commercial Banking Transformation lead to play a key role in the Coverage Model transformation program, a key pillar in Commercial Banking’s strategy. This initiative is a multi-year transformational journey focusing on integrating and optimizing how we serve upper commercial clients, to strengthen, and future proof our operating model, and ensure we follow a “best for client” approach.

In this position, you will lead the execution of workstreams and delivery activities, ensuring alignment with the overall program vision, and business priorities. You will be accountable for driving transparency and accountability while supporting business partners in advancing the program at pace, removing blockers and troubleshooting issues.  

This role will blend strategic thinking with execution, and your responsibilities will be diverse, ranging from overseeing activities led by partners and team members to personally leading design & documentation and strategic priority development including the development and execution of comprehensive migration strategies

What will you do?

The successful candidate will support Transformation Office leadership in executing against the Coverage Model Transformation Program including;

  • Lead execution - Oversee and drive the strategy and execution and delivery of multiple experienced workstream leads and technical resources to ensure all workstreams within the program are progressing at pace and interdependencies are identified and prioritized.
  • Drive strategic decisions- Collaborate with partners across Commercial Banking Credit, Corporate Client Group, Canadian Banking Operations, Lending Services, Finance IT, and other functional partners (e.g., tech teams, data partners) to make strategic decisions, ensure all risks have been identified and addressed, issues have resolution paths and deliverables are prioritized.
  • Build cross-functional alignment - Work closely with executive stakeholders and workstream leads to make critical strategic decisions and tradeoffs on execution plans, balancing business priorities, client experience and risk management.
  • Identify optimization opportunities - Drive collaborative efforts across Finance, IT and Operations to identify and capitalize on optimization opportunities (financial and servicing opportunities).
  • Translate complexity into clarity - Analyze data and develop business cases to inform future investments and strategic business decisions. Support value tracking and reporting of project benefits
  • Foster collaboration and a culture of constructive challenge and collaboration across the organization, building productive, respectful relationships with cross-functional teams.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • 7 + years’ experience applying leading practices in:
    • Strategy development and execution (inc. frameworks & methodologies, design thinking, org design, target operating models) and Business Process Management
    • Data-driven decision making / financial modeling
    • Large scale change management, transformation, and project/program management
  • Proven ability to problem solve, prioritize, manage, and execute projects and adapt to a fast-paced and ambiguous environment; This role requires above average organization and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail, including proficiency in MS PowerPoint, with ability to craft compelling presentations for a range of stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Curiosity with a passion to drive change and ability to work in an ambiguous environment
  • Ability to translate complex ideas into a compelling story
  • Strong financial acumen, with the ability to interpret data and analysis to direct strategic business decisions
  • Focus on identifying all the drivers of portfolio profitability to inform future investments.
  • Experience partnering with cross-platform groups (e.g., technology, operations, sales, legal, risk, etc.) and strong ability to respectfully collaborate and influence to achieve alignment with partners
