The Opportunity:

The Corporate Finance Manager will be responsible for cash flow and liquidity management including forecasting, reporting and analytics, and daily treasury operations.  This role will also be responsible for providing finance support on larger projects of strategic importance for cash flow, liquidity, balance sheet risk management and finance transformation by providing consulting, planning, and financial analysis. This role will be required to build strong partnerships with senior business leaders and colleagues for Fidelity entities in Canada and global counterparts in treasury. 

Finance transformation activities include collaborating with SMEs to establish new processes, enhancing existing controls, and systems and employing new technologies to advance the Fidelity Investments Canada treasury function.

This position will be part of the Corporate Accounting and Controllership team, reporting to the Director, Finance and Corporate Accounting.  The team is responsible for providing corporate accounting, treasury and controllership support to the Fidelity Joint Venture structure and entities within this structure.

Please note that the internal business title for the role is Treasury Finance Manager.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop, manage and regularly maintain cash flow and working capital forecast models. Build out forecast capabilities that are dynamic and timely to address needs of business and proactively anticipate future requirements.

  • Co-ordinate with the business planning, budget and forecast process, drawing on knowledge of business events and initiatives to efficiently plan for upcoming years.

  • Provide value-add financial analysis of treasury activities and communicate trends and financial results through reports, dashboards and presentations to internal finance teams and senior management.

  • Work cross-functionally and act as key liaison with internal (client services, legal & compliance, corporate accounting, etc.) and external business groups (banking partners etc.)

  • Work with global partners to evolve FIC’s treasury function with an eye towards risk management

  • Operate with an eye towards identifying and implementing solutions which improve efficiency and effectiveness through elimination, simplification and automation of processes.

  • Provide ad hoc analysis and support to Director to assist in responding to specific requests from Senior Management.

  • Primary contact and accountability over the daily, weekly, and monthly treasury activities including bank reconciliations, monitoring of account balances and processing of cash transfers from corporate bank accounts, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and completeness.

  • Provide guidance and coaching to junior treasury financial analyst.

What We’re Looking For:

  • University degree with a concentration in business or finance (or equivalent experience)

  • Completion of CPA or equivalent is required.

  • Minimum 3 years of previous experience gained either through audit or consulting with exposure to treasury fundamentals

  • Nice to have: Big 4 experience, global and Canadian asset/wealth management industry experience

  • Base Salary and Discretionary Performance Bonus: A competitive annual range of $105,000 to $123,000 based on your experience and qualifications.
