Our Compliance Officers are responsible for conducting audits and assessments at various regional airports to ensure adherence to screening procedures, protocols, policies, and standards. Reporting to the Manager of Compliance, the Compliance Officer will play a crucial role in identifying, addressing, and when required, escalating the non-compliance issues to the appropriate parties. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of aviation security screening.
The Compliance Officer will be based out of Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and will be required to travel to the other regional airports.
Responsibilities
- Conduct audits on Screening functions at Pre-Board Screening (PBS), Hold Baggage Screening (HBS), Non-Passenger Screening Terminal (NPST), and Non-Passenger Screening Vehicles (NPSV) checkpoints.
- Conduct audits on documentation relating to Screening Operations at PBS, HBS, and NPST/V checkpoints.
- Identify non-compliance issues and address deficiencies at the time of discovery; escalate training issues to the Training Department and performance issues to the Operations Department
- Perform audit functions, ensuring alignment with the area of focus and frequency.
- Perform audits on PASS programs, including OH&S, People & Culture, Training & Development, Employee Care, the Operation Centre, and management of consumables.
- Audit compliance with third-party platforms.
- Collaborate with the Compliance team members to contribute to the development of Corrective Management Actions
- Audits will include physical inspections, but also electronic investigations into document safeguarding and record keeping.
- Audits will include detailed reviews of Training, Experience, Qualifications and Security Clearances
- Remain current with regulations, and any changes in aviation security screening protocols.
- Program and creating Compliance Codes in Paladin's Employee Resource Management Software, and client software.
- Create documentation and manage processes where a high degree of compliance is required.
Requirements
- Ability to acquire Transportation Security Clearance (TSC)
- Previous experience in compliance, risk management, audit, investigations, or related experience in a regulated environment is required.
- Must have previous experience in conducting internal audits and reviews to assess compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Ability to successfully complete Airside Vehicle Operator's Permit (AVOP) Training and obtain D/A certification
- Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred
- Candidates will need to be able to get their D/A certification for airside audits
- Extensive knowledge of screening protocols, policies, and standards.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead a team and work collaboratively with other Compliance Officers
- Flexibility to travel to various Regional Airports within the designated region.
