The Opportunity
Marid Industries is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious CNC/Beamline Operator to join our fabrication team. This role is responsible for operating CNC-controlled beamline machinery to cut, drill, and process structural steel components according to precise specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high production standards.
What you'll do
Responsibilities
- Operate CNC beamline equipment to process steel beams, channels, and other structural components
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machining requirements
- View and manipulate CNC computer files to ensure materials are processed correctly.
- Load and unload materials using overhead cranes or forklifts
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machinery
- Inspect finished products for quality assurance and dimensional accuracy
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals
What you'll need
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in CNC machining or related field preferred
- 1-3 years of experience operating CNC machinery, preferably in a structural steel environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Familiarity with beamline systems such as Peddinghaus, Voortman, or similar
- Basic computer skills and experience with CNC programming interfaces
- Strong understanding of shop math and measurement tools (calipers, tape measures, etc.)
- Forklift and crane operation certification is a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Comfortable working in a noisy, industrial environment
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity for precision work
