This is a senior technology leadership opportunity focused on building and evolving platforms that support equity derivatives and structured products distribution.
You will operate at the intersection of software engineering, capital markets, and sales, translating complex business needs into scalable technology solutions.
The role has ownership of critical order management, product distribution, trade lifecycle, and reporting capabilities.
You will work with sophisticated financial platforms, Bloomberg workflows, APIs, FIX messaging, and multiple structured product ecosystems.
Success requires close partnership with sales, trading, compliance, legal, risk, and senior technology stakeholders.
You will also shape architecture standards, improve production reliability, and mentor engineers and business analysts.
This role is ideal for an experienced capital markets technologist who combines deep equity derivatives knowledge with strong hands-on engineering capabilities.
Accountabilities
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of sales technology solutions supporting equity derivatives and structured product distribution.
- Architect and own a scalable order management system for equity derivatives, covering order initiation, pre-trade checks, execution, booking, settlement, and post-trade management.
- Design and maintain integrations with structured product and distribution platforms, including SIMON, Luma, Evooq, OTCX, Halo, and CAIS.
- Drive adoption of digital distribution channels and self-service tools for internal and external clients.
- Manage Bloomberg structured note contribution workflows, including secondary-market price publication, BSYM/BBGID identifiers, and Bloomberg terminal integrations.
- Design and maintain relational SQL databases and MongoDB document models supporting trade data, product catalogues, client activity, reporting, and analytics.
- Evaluate, onboard, and manage third-party technology vendors and related relationships.
- Partner with compliance, legal, and risk teams to ensure technology solutions meet regulatory and operational requirements, including MiFID II.
- Define and enforce coding standards, architecture patterns, development practices, and engineering best practices across the sales technology stack.
- Mentor junior engineers and business analysts, providing technical direction and helping strengthen the team's engineering capabilities.
- Monitor production performance, lead incident response, and maintain the reliability and operational resilience of critical systems.
- Lead technical delivery in an Agile environment while balancing business priorities, technical requirements, and production needs.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 4 years within capital markets or financial services.
- Strong hands-on proficiency in both Python and Java, with the ability to own full-stack technical delivery.
- Deep knowledge of equity derivatives and structured products, including structured notes, autocallables, barrier options, and equity-linked products, from both sales and technology perspectives.
- Demonstrated experience working with or integrating structured product distribution platforms such as SIMON, Luma, Evooq, OTCX, Halo, and/or CAIS.
- Proven experience managing Bloomberg structured note contribution workflows, including secondary-market pricing, BSYM/BBGID identifiers, and Bloomberg terminal integration.
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and working with FIX or other financial messaging protocols.
- Strong database expertise across relational and document-oriented technologies, including SQL and MongoDB.
- Solid understanding of trade lifecycle processes, order management, and structured product workflows.
- Proven ability to lead complex technical delivery within an Agile environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work confidently with sales, trading, technology, and senior leadership.
- Ability to translate ambiguous or complex business requirements into clear technical designs and actionable solutions.
- Pragmatic, analytical, delivery-focused approach with the ability to remain effective under production pressure.
- Collaborative mindset and experience partnering with compliance, legal, risk, and other cross-functional teams.
- Experience mentoring and developing junior engineers or business analysts.
- Preferred: experience with AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, or other cloud and containerized environments.
- Preferred: familiarity with additional structured product platforms or products linked to rates, credit, or FX.
- Preferred: experience with CI/CD, DevOps, data engineering, ETL pipelines, or FIX implementations within regulated environments.
- Preferred: knowledge of regulatory frameworks beyond MiFID II, such as Dodd-Frank or SEC Regulation Best Interest.
