What is the opportunity?

RBC Capital Markets’ Global Investment Banking division is seeking energetic, bright and talented individuals to join their team as an Associate in the Metals & Mining group. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside industry-leading experts in an entrepreneurial, growth-focused environment with strong deal flow across all sectors of the industry.

What will you do?

  • Contribute towards the analysis, placement and completion of public and private debt and equity financings, mergers and acquisitions and other financial advisory assignments

  • Provide underwriting of equity and debt capital, and strategic advisory services for leading corporations and institutions throughout North America and around the world

What do you need to succeed?

  • Completed an undergraduate program from a leading university, with focus on business, economics, geology or mining engineering

  • 3-5 years of Investment Banking, Equity Research, or Corporate Development for a publicly-listed company

  • Experience in Metals, Mining sector is preferred

  • Enrolment in, or completion of, the CFA designation, completion of an MBA, or other professional designations is considered an asset

  • Must demonstrate a desire to learn and an eagerness to make a meaningful contribution to the team environment at RBC Capital Markets

  • Track record of outstanding academic achievement and professional experience

  • Strong financial modeling/valuation and analytical skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate concepts and ideas concisely and defend their validity Leadership qualities

  • Ability to take initiative and desire to play a key role as team member in a fast-paced and challenging work environment

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate's experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.

Pay Range

The expected pay range for this position is:

$90,000.00 - $135,000.00
