Position Summary
The AML/CFT (Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism) Professional at Hawaii State Federal Credit Union is an investigative role, supporting the Section Manager to identify, assess, and mitigate money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, and related compliance risks by monitoring suspicious activities, performing due diligence reviews and risk assessments, and ensuring adherence to applicable regulatory requirements and internal policies. As the AML/CFT Professional, you'll be responsible for supporting the credit union's AML/CFT, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) compliance efforts and regulatory obligations. You'll join a collaborative team, ensuring that the credit union and community is safe and protected. We support law enforcement with our investigations so the work we do has a larger impact. Our work isn't just for compliance, but to safeguard our community and financial system from financial crimes and terrorism financing.
Please note: This position is in-office at our HSFCU Headquarters in Downtown Honolulu.
Base Annual Salary Range: $51,300 - $64,575 per yearThe posted range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position, with final compensation determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity.
Essential Duties:
Manage Day-to-Day Program Administration:
Investigates transaction activity alerts and related cases.
Prepares suspicious activity reports (SARs) as necessary.
Reviews transactions to ensure appropriate currency transaction reports (CTRs) are filed.
Verifies that applicable monetary instrument records are maintained.
Assists with OFAC and 314(a) compliance.
Ad-hoc responsibilities, assisting with the administration and ongoing maintenance of the Credit Union's AML/CFT compliance program.
Gathering and analyzing information.
Preparing reports.
Conducting due diligence reviews.
Supporting risk assessment activities.
Monitoring program metrics.Coordinating information requests related to regulatory examinations, audits, and program reviews.
Assists in developing and implementing policies and procedures for compliance issues, particularly regarding OFAC and BSA.
Maintains current knowledge of AML/CFT regulatory requirements, emerging financial crime trends and typologies, and credit union policies and procedures relevant to assigned duties and responsibilities.
Provides technical expertise, consultation and training on regulatory compliance, particularly pertaining to BSA and OFAC.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
2+ years of professional work experience in financial institution operations, preferably in BSA Operations and/or Compliance.
Strong investigative, analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting established deadlines.
Understanding of financial institution operations and procedures as they relate to the share operations.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Working knowledge of AML/CFT, BSA, OFAC, and other related regulatory requirements.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Systems experience using Verafin monitoring system.
Professional AML/CFT certification (e.g., CAMS, CAFP, CFCS, or equivalent)
