Under general supervision, this position performs moderately complex clerical, secretarial and general office assistance work in Special Investigations. Employee reviews and interprets various data to ensure accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures. This position fingerprints, transcribes audio and/or video interviews, answers telephones, composes and types material, establishes and maintains files and computer databases. Performs related work as required.
Must be able to transcribe from audio/video sources. DCI certification. (Must be a U.S. Citizen to obtain DCI certification).

Graduation from high school or GED and demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills and abilities gained through at least two (2) years of office assistant, secretarial or records processing experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Has considerable knowledge of punctuation, grammar, spelling and arithmetic. Has considerable knowledge of modern office practices and procedures. Is able to communicate effectively orally and in writing and is able to exercise tact and courtesy in frequent contact with county officials and the general public.
