The Operations Excellence Specialist provides support on key corporate priorities, operations program development, process improvement, performance measures and reporting while supporting the Operations Excellence leadership team.

As an Operations Excellence Specialist, you will:
Provide Process Improvement
- Maintains and develops policies and standard operating procedures to ensure adherence with internal standards and evolving practices and systems.
- Coordinates the development of process tools, procedures and systems for department.
- Works on assigned process improvement projects that are aligned with the strategic priority projects and/or initiates process improvement projects to drive improved department efficiencies.
Conduct Performance Analysis & Reporting
- Manages quality dashboards ensuring accessibility to operations leaders
- Develops quarterly reports on quality measures for operations leaders
- Performs analysis of reports and data collection to gain insights from operational data and make recommendations to Operations Leadership.
- Works closely with other departments and stakeholders in identifying the impacts of process changes to all areas of the business.
- Documents, publishes and maintains knowledge of program activities and processes.
- Coordinates the internal and external publication of communication regarding department activities and dashboards.
- Supports the creation of briefing notes, discussion papers, presentations, and reports.
Focus on Program Development
- Contributes to the development and implementation of initiatives that contribute to the increased performance of operations.
- Represents Operations Excellence in corporate projects, interprets operational needs to others in the company, and relays pertinent project information back into Operations Excellence.
- Develops presentation materials as needed for various operational communications efforts.
- Conducts research into new and emerging technologies to make recommendations on potential operational efficiencies.
- Participates on relevant project teams and apply project management principles when required.
Other Activities
- Provides coordination and administrative support and coverage as needed
- Research and benchmark best practices for continuous monitoring
- Utilize project management methodologies to support departmental initiatives
- Contribute to business case development
- Understand and document current state processes and develop opportunities/alternatives for new or improved processes
- Work with other departments to ensure consistent control points and performance metrics exist in the processes
- Gather/validate technical requirements through a variety of techniques
- Provide support in the identification of process automation opportunities and development of system requirements, and
- Provide support in the development of business cases outlining the desired change. Support with data preparation and management on key corporate priorities and projects.
- Provides support, cross training and coverage across Operations Excellence as needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience you have:
- Degree in Business or a related discipline supplemented by 3 years of project management or program coordination experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Knowledge of main business products and services, and of the functions operations provides at Technical Safety BC
- Knowledge of the quality improvement processes
- Facilitation of working group meetings and consensus building skills for dashboards and reporting
- Ability to synthesize working procedures and to develop, document and deliver usable best practices.
- Ability to gain buy-in and to manage and influence key stakeholders.
- Excellent organization skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering high quality work
- Knowledge of the organizational change management ramifications when implementing projects and programs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and troubleshoot problems and to make related recommendations
- Self-initiative and a track record of working effectively on an independent basis.
