RBC Capital Markets is looking to add a Winter Co-op student based in Toronto on the Global Credit Market Execution Team.

What will you do?

  • Support transaction execution, business presentation development, and portfolio management
  • Undertake analytical transactional modeling of risk transfer products and due diligence on the counterparties with whom we transact in those products
  • Prepare due diligence information packages for the distribution of credit risk to third-party counterparties
  • Support and coordinate with bankers and external counterparties on transaction analysis and execution
  • Collaborate and coordinate product support with internal partners functions across Capital Markets and in Group Risk Management
  • Manage the process of updating the portfolio and the preparation of financial and management related reports
  • Assist with monitoring and providing post-close transaction support
  • Work with tax partners to ensure all taxes related to hedging transactions are paid out on time
  • Develop internal presentations for senior management within the investment bank
  • Assist with the development and refinement of policies and procedures
  • Work on the development and improvement of regulatory capital relief models, as needed

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Working towards a Bachelor's degree in finance, Business Administration, Economics, CFA, or other related field
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively independently and within a team environment
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and very high level of accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks under pressure, and meet time-sensitive deadlines
  • Proficient in the full suite of Microsoft products, including Excel (including using Excel as a tool for financial analysis) and Word

Nice-to-have:

  • Knowledge and understanding of financial statement analysis
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, including SQL applications, VBA, and Tableau
  • Previous experience working in a financial institution
