Salary and Benefits

 

For most School Psychologists the salary range is $57,206 (Master's + 45, Step 1) - $99,371 (Master's + 45, Step 16). Initial placement is dependent on education and experience.  Springfield Public Schools also offers a generous benefit plan. Salary will be pro-rated for any start date after September 1, 2026.

About the Position

 

Springfield Public Schools seeks outstanding candidates for positions of Temporary, Full Time (1.0 FTE) School Psychologist for Centennial Elementary and Hamlin Middle School.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of research-based reading/writing/mathematics curricula and sound instructional practices;
  • Experience in facilitating team meetings and able to provide instructional and curricular recommendations;
  • Understanding of multi-tiered systems of support for academics and behavior (Response to Instruction & Intervention (RtI) and Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS);
  • Experience in working collaboratively with general and special education teaching staff;
  • Experience conducting functional behavioral assessments and developing function-based behavioral support plans;
  • Ability to work effectively with staff and parents to improve student achievement;
  • Experience conducting comprehensive educational and psychological evaluations;
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in the field of education;
  • Demonstrated understanding of, and responsiveness to, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds that characterize a K-12 school community in a manner specific to the position;
  • Strong student relationship building skills and the ability to establish a sound system of classroom routines and management;
  • Able to establish effective, collaborative working relationships with diverse staff, student and community populations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A current, valid state of Oregon School Psychologist license;
  • Successfully pass fingerprinting, criminal, Oregon Department of Education, and TSPC background checks.
