Job Description

What is the opportunity?

Join RBC Investor Services in a key role where you'll take ownership of tax reporting excellence for our investment fund clients. You'll prepare compliant, accurate tax solutions while driving meaningful improvements to our tax processes and procedures. This is an ideal opportunity to deepen your expertise in investment fund taxation while collaborating with clients, internal teams, and external partners.

What will you do?

  • Lead the design and implementation of distribution modules for corporations and trusts, partnering with cross-functional teams on requirements, testing, and rollout
  • Identify and champion process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance efficiency and scalability
  • Spearhead regulatory change initiatives impacting tax reporting across fund operations
  • Prepare, review, and ensure accuracy of tax returns (trusts, corporations, HST) and unitholder tax reporting
  • Compute and allocate income and gains/losses for segregated funds with precision
  • Maintain ongoing compliance with CRA requirements; manage Notice of Assessments and communications
  • Oversee Fund Distribution operations; mentor fund accountants on procedures and tax compliance
  • Serve as primary contact for clients, internal departments, and external vendors on tax matters
  • Lead pre- and post-year-end tax planning sessions with clients, auditors, and internal stakeholders

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or related field
  • CPA designation (or CPA candidate with demonstrated progress)
  • Minimum 2+ years of investment fund tax reporting experience
  • Minimum 3+ years of fund accounting or investment fund industry experience (public accounting or financial services preferred)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; proven organizational and time management capability

Pay Range

The expected pay range for this position is:

$67,000.00 - $110,000.00
