What is the opportunity?
Direct Investing is a key growth initiative within RBC Wealth Management, enabling clients to build personalized investment portfolios with direct access to equities, ETFs, and alternative investments. The Direct Investing platform represents RBC's commitment to democratizing wealth management and delivering innovative, client-centric solutions.
We are seeking a Project Manager / Delivery Lead to join the Direct Investing business to drive the successful delivery of Direct Investing initiatives. This role is responsible for leading the delivery of transformation initiatives at RBC Direct Investing, a leading-edge digital investment business undergoing significant transformation. The successful candidate will lead project execution across assigned initiatives, directing all aspects of project delivery with strategic oversight, while maintaining awareness of business strategy and key objectives.
You will work alongside product leaders, engineering, marketing, compliance, legal, risk and business stakeholders to navigate complex dependencies, remove delivery obstacles, and champion a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. What will you do?
Own delivery accountability for Direct Investing initiatives, leading projects across Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid environments
Execute planning and delivery of programs and deliverables, ensuring business objectives are achieved within approved timelines, scope, and budget
Champion governance and execution assurance by establishing strong delivery processes, integrating project plans, and aligning outcomes with business goals
Drive cross-functional communication, providing transparent progress updates to leadership and facilitating alignment across product, digital, technology, marketing, compliance/legal/risk, and business teams
Remove impediments and dependencies through proactive problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaborative engagement with internal and external partners (vendors, RBC IT teams, business units)
Manage schedules and risk by identifying early warning indicators, escalating issues promptly, and developing contingency plans
Oversee project financials and staffing, ensuring efficient resource allocation and tracking value delivery for informed decision-making
Coach and develop team capability by establishing strong working relationships, promoting joint accountability, and building influence across technical and business units
Build and present reporting for management stakeholder reviews, including project status, financials, and key metrics
Ensure quality and integration by completing risk assessments and verifying that initiatives are effectively embedded into RBC procedures and processes
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
5+ years of project delivery management experience in Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid environments, ideally in financial services, fintech, or complex data/technology environments
Proven ability to manage high-visibility projects with third-party vendors and significant technology components
Advanced communication, presentation, and facilitation skills with demonstrated ability to influence across organizational levels
Hands-on proficiency with Agile workflows (milestones, critical paths, product and sprint backlogs, release burndown)
Strong technical fluency with project management tools (Jira, Confluence, SharePoint) and related methodologies
Experience managing projects involving complex dependencies, data processing, or transactional systems
Strong knowledge of change management, risk management, and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
PMP Designation, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or equivalent certification
Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and adapt delivery approaches as needed
Nice-to-have
Experience in Direct Investing, wealth management, capital markets, or investment platforms
Familiarity with RBC systems, processes, and organizational structure
Background in Finance, Risk, or Compliance technology initiatives
Experience building and mentoring high-performing delivery teams

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate’s experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.
Pay Range
The expected pay range for this position is:
$90,000 - $140,000.
